   EVENT: 04/29/26 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

   THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

        • Good time/good nite, back at Wise Man.
        • Good crowd for the night as well. At least for acoustic music. A little quieter crowd is a good thing for softer music!
        • But, the biggest treat, was having some of the kids make it out for tonight. Janie was there as usual, along with Bridget (a regular). Surprise, surprise,  Nellie, and Danny made it for the first time with the open mic crowd. And, oh, of hearing me playing of course!
        • Limit was up to 3 songs tonight, which is always a treat!

   EVENT: 04/01/26 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

   THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

        • It’s been quite a while, but back to reality with the play order drawing! Surprise, surprise, for the first time got a #3 slot! Whoo Hooo!!!
        • Great crowd for the event. Several new ‘to me’ performers.
        • Honored again to have Janio and Bridget joining me again tonight.
        • Limited to only 2 songs due to the number of performers.
        • Interesting that almost half of the sets tonight were 3-4 artists playing with/in a group together. Same artists, they obviously had planned to play together for their sets as an alternative tonight. Was pretty cool actually.

       EVENT: 03/22/26 Finnish Bistro, Saint Anthony, MN

          THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

      • Back again in the Twin Cities visiting the inlaws in Minnesota this week. The latest opportunity to check out this local gem, Finnish Bistro.
      • Working out well to have the extra Taylor guitar there at the condo for musical events while visiting.
      • I was again totally blown away with the venue and event. Another good size crowd, who were totally in to the music!
      • It was also an another great night to have family members there, and nephew Michael for the first time! Love You Guys!
      • HAD A HUGE HONOR this time. At the end of the set, was invited back for a Featured Artist 30 minute time slot. Since then have scheduled the Gig for May 31st. Totally blown away and excited for the event!

       EVENT: 07/16/25 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

       THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

          • Ok, back to reality with the play order drawing! Got a #13 slot! Boooo!!! But, we did get a good chance to see lots of other performances and artists. Another good crowd for the event as well.
          • Honored again to have Janio and Bridget joining me again tonight. And tonight her work buddy Dylan joined us for the evening.

        • Two weeks in a row with a great draw,,,, drew a #2 playing position with yet another 20+ performers showing up to play!
        • Another diverse group of performers again.

         EVENT: 06/29/25 Finnish Bistro, Saint Anthony, MN

         THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

        • Back again in the Twin Cities visiting the inlaws in Minnesota this week. Second opportunity to check out this local gem, Finnish Bistro.
        • This time, in advance of future musical events while visiting, I purchased a used guitar to leave in Minnesota for future events.
        • I was again totally blown away with the venue and event. Another good size crowd, who were totally in to the music!
        • It was also a hugely great night to have family members (Nicki, Ryan, Monica, Ben, Zayda, Khalil, Patty and Tom in attendance).

           EVENT: 06/04/25 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

           THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

          • First time back at Wise Man in several weeks. Was good to be back with so many familiar faces!
          • Interesting to draw a #3 playing position when there were 20+ performers that showed up for the eventing!
          • Very diverse group with several first timers tonight.

             EVENT: 05/04/25 Finnish Bistro, Saint Anthony, MN

             THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

            • We were visiting the inlaws in Minnesota this week. Decided to check out the local mic night events. Came across this local “Bistro crowd” musical event. And actually for this establishment, it was optional to read poetry or play soft music! I definitey opted/preferred the later!
            • To make it happened, I ended up renting a guitar for the night from the local Guitar Music Center.
            • I was totally blown away with the venue and event. They had a good size crowd, who to the person was totally quiet and ‘into’ listening to the music!
            • It was also a hugely great night to have family members (Nicki, Kerry, Monica, and her Zayda in attendance).

               EVENT: 04/23/25 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

               THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

              • Enjoyed another chance to be at the Wise Man open mic night!
              • They have a really good cadre of artists at the event and a diverse set of music genre. Tonight’s group was exceptional and first rate!
              • Was really excited to have Courtney join us! That was the good news. Bad news,,,, I drew the next to LAST slot in the lottery to play tonight! So she was not able to stay that late. But it was great to have her join us! That’s the life of a single Mom, on a weeknight as well!
              • Being the next to last performer came with an unexpect benefit, everyone was quiet and really into the music! That’s always a good vibe to have when playing!
              • Another first, playing on back to back nights/events! A bit much for a retiree, so we proabably won’t be done that much in the future! LOL!

                 EVENT: 04/22/25 Social Habit, Kernersville, NC

                 THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

                • First time at this local open mic event. It’s a small venue.
                • Plan was to ‘check it out’ as a possible place to play. The guy running the event talked me into using his guitar, to play a few tunes to sample the place! Turned out to be a causal kind of cool vibe place!
                • Got a chance to try out a couple of new ‘tunes’ with the audience.
                • Neighbors Jim and Sheri with us again on our traveling tour!

                   EVENT: 04/02/25 Wise Man Brewing, Winston Salem, NC

                   THOUGHTS/COMMENTS:

                  • My first public performance in….. 50+ years, except playing bass guitar with my Uncle Dave’s band at local BBQs and Chicken Bogs some 20+ years ago!

                  • First time ever playing by myself publicly. And OMG it was…. fun!

                  • Have to say, it went pretty well, or at least no one got hurt! Ha, Ha
